How we make money
Some links to retailers and manufacturers are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the store may pay us a small share of the sale, usually a few percent of the price. That money pays for test hardware and the time it takes to test it. We don't run display ads and we don't accept payment for coverage.

Which stores
We link to Amazon and to other retailers and brand stores, including Best Buy, B&H, Newegg, Walmart and manufacturers' own stores. Not every store pays us, and we link to the ones that don't when they are a good place to buy. Store links are labeled with the store's name, open in a new tab, and go directly to the store.
Why we don't show prices
Prices on computers change daily, and Amazon only allows sites to display its prices through its official product feed, which new sites cannot use yet. Rather than show numbers that may be wrong, we show the manufacturer's list price with the date we checked it, and a button to see the current price at each store.
What this means for our reviews
- We recommend products on their merits for a specific job and budget.
- We list stores in the order that is best for the buyer when we know it (price, stock, returns), not by what they pay us.
- Review units from manufacturers are disclosed on the review.
