How we choose products
We recommend the computer we would tell a friend to buy for the job, at a given budget. We start from what the job needs (for local AI: enough memory for the model, and enough memory bandwidth for a usable speed) and compare the machines that meet it. Commission rates play no part. We include products that are not sold on Amazon, and stores that don't pay us, when they are the better choice.
Independence
- No paid placements. A brand cannot pay to be listed, ranked or reviewed.
- Brands never see our reviews before they are published.
- If a company sends us a review unit, the review says so. We may keep it for long-term testing or return it; that never depends on the verdict.
How we use AI tools
We use AI writing tools to help draft and edit pages, the same way we use spell checkers. Every page is reviewed and approved by our editor. Every number on the site comes from one of our own tests or a cited source, and our build process refuses to publish a result without a test ID or a source.
Keeping pages current
Computer prices and models change constantly. Every article shows when it was last updated and lists what changed. We review our most-read buying guides every month and whenever a significant new product ships.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and log the fix on the page. Tell us at hello@aipcs.store.
